Volkswagen South Africa - Complaint
Good day all... Been a customer at VW since 2021 when I got my first car. But right now I would strongly advice anyone getting a car to reconsider getting a vw car. My story is my car is not even 2 years it's sitting at 30000km with service done on time but it overheating which is a technical issue related to their production or whatsoever mind that I have all that covered by VW if any technical issue happen. But they refusing to repair the car they demanding me to pay of which I won't do. I'll fight as I know that I've never tempered with any part on the car and also that I know what I signed for and my rights.

NO RESPONSE ON MY SERVICE EXPERIENCE @ BIDVEST VOLKSWAGEN uMHLANGA

On Saturday 29 March I travelled down to Umhlanga with my VW Tiguan for Holiday when I experienced Clutch Problems. It was Easter weekend so I could only took my vehicle in to Bidvest VW on Tuesday 2 April. I was told by the service provider a certain Naeem to leave the vehicle there and they will access what is wrong and let me have a quote for the cost. I did not here anything from them and on Thursday I tried to phone them but I continuously had to listen to advertisement and what accolades they received and after a few repetitions the tape runs out and then the line just cuts off. This repeated over and over . After hours trying eventually somebody answered and I could speak to Naeem. I told him I have only accommodation for the week. He then informed me they have not done any assessments. They had to get parts from the factory, either in Cape Town or Pretoria. I told him that the factory is in Uitenhage. He again promised to send me a quote. The next day I still did not receive anything. The previous phone frustrations repeated itself. He eventually send me a quote for, R51162.81. I objected to the cost and asked to speak to the Workshop Manager, James. He informed me that they had just started to open up the gearbox and clutch.. On Friday 5th May @ 16h 25 I received a revised Quote for R34827.01. Naeem phoned me and all he was interested in was that I must pay the amount in with Immediate EFT. When I asked him when will the vehicle be ready? I was informed that they had to order the parts but can only do it if the cost were paid. I tried to do the immediate EFT payment, but the closing time is 3.00pm. Being all ready after 4pm, I had to wait till Monday to do it. However on the Saturday I did an ordinary EFT and email him the proof of payment. Needless to say, I had to run around to obtain additional accommodation @ high cost. On Monday the phoning frustration repeated itself Naeem reported that Head Office have not confirmed Payment, On Tuesday the frustration were repeated, and I was told they have received the parts and busy replacing it. On Wednesday, he phoned me to say they have done the work and I could come and fetch the vehicle. I told him I had no transport. I asked if they can bring the vehicle to me, He agreed to do so. I received my vehicle later that afternoon. Between me and my children we are driving 5 VW vehicles for years. This experience has definitely affect our future planning. The Tiguan has only done 80000 km and this sudden failure is questionable. Also the difference in prices of quotes. Hope we can receive your comments.

Pathetic after sales service.

I have tried VWSA many times via email and have nit received any response, for more than a month. Your after sales service is pathetic. I have an issue with a dealership that sold me a Tiguan via Mastercars less than a year ago now the vehicle has a gearbox issue which I was forced to pay for. The dealership is finding any way possible to dodge my emails.

VW Tavcor George bad after sales service.

Totally ignoring my emails. VWSA customer email not responding. Bad after sales service. Master car Tavcor. Tiguans gearbox packed up in less than a year. Had to pay huge deposit before part was ordered. Still no feedback Just one excuse after the other. So many incidents. The latest on is that the tracker picked up that the vehicle was driven in town and over a mountain pass while it is there for gearbox unit replacement.What none sense, then they claimed not to know about the vehicle being driven. Really?.

Bad and rude customer service

They promised me a courtesy car, and then they gave it to someone else who bought a new vehicle. I have a tuarag under warranty and the vehicle has to stay there for 10 days. The service manager just did not care. And when I took the car in for booking they said they will sort out the warranty, but they phoned today and said I have to pay and claim the money back. Horrible customer service

I got my car serviced and everything was working perfect for about 3 weeks. I left my car parked for around 2 weeks as I had to leave for work and 2 days after arriving back home my car started giving me problems. My car would jerk as I'm driving and even cut out at random times. Sometimes when it cut out it would not start again until the following day. I took my car into VW Claremont and they said it was my immobilizer that was giving problems. I paid for them to fix this and was told the car is working perfect. The next day while driving to work my car cut out again and would not start. I then got it towed back to VW Claremont for the second time and said the problem is not resolved. My car stayed there for 4 days and all I was told is that there is nothing wrong with my car. I again went to collect my car and again got stuck on the side of the road because the car cut out and would not start. I have now towed the car back to VW Claremont for the third time. This is seriously so pathetic and such a waste of not only my time but my money as well having to get the car towed in 3 times and having to Uber to work and home as VW does not provide courtesy vehicles. I wonder how many more times I have to break down before they can actually fix the problem.

Preferred solution: Answer to my question. I'm very happy with my vehicle. Need tires replaced without influencing my warranty. Will pay for it myself. Just need to get a answer on what size and make I can use. 18" all terrain 3ply sidewall tires.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I just had to accept the apology the service Manager phoned me very aggravated explaining me about the popie act regarding his worker. For my sanity I just accepted the apology but would not advise anyone to take their vehicle at the Glen VW .

I took my vehicle for a service in December 2023 it was for a major service I received information that my service will be R44000 that was ridiculous. I asked what all it included so I only did some of service which costed R22000 and explained that I will do the rest in the new year. I took my vehicle in December after the service. there after driving my car I could smell something heating up in the engine. I asked my father to open the bonnet just check what it could be, only to there were a rag pressed in the car's engine. It was left there my who ever worked on my car. I went back to VW The Glen and spoke to the Service Manager I was very, very unhappy because the car could have cot fire when I was driving it lives could have been lost. The only thing the Service Manager did was to check my vehicle for any damages and according him there were none. He only apologized for inconvenience cost and informed me that there will be a disciplinary hearing with person who worked on my car and he will keep me up to date. He never got back to me every time I send a message he will read it but will totally ignore me. I think this is very unprofessional and disrespectful taking clients for fools I will never take my vehicle to that branch again. The service was bad bad from the top to the bottom it seems officials wrong doing is being sweep under the table it is very worrisome to me because what did they in my previous services I did over the years. I still need change my gearbox oil and transmission oil but was advised that it is lifetime oil I don't have to do it which to me made no sense. I went for a second opinion and was told the vehicle should go for a oil change after 100.000 kilometers which again not giving correct information and this from a Manager. A VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER M. DAYA

No number plate issued car was bought on 05 March 2024. And the second permit expires soon on Monday the 15. 04 2024. I'm not prepared to get the third permit. I'm exhausted and disappointed with VW

VW South Africa does it again!!! Think twice when deciding to purchase a VW vehicle of any kind. Theyre the most unhelpful bunch of people EVER their service is as BAD as it was 5 years ago (probably worse) when we owned our first VW bus. Oh and to the woman at your customer service in PE go on a customer service course you have no clue about how to treat customers youre RUDE, OBNOXIOUS and CONDESCENDING and I asked to speak to a manager I was told that the manager would tell me exactly the same thing (which isnt for you to decide your focus should be on how to treat VW customers with dignity and respect) which quite honestly you suck at!!!

The ABS light has now come on for the second time in 2weeks. Barons Tokai cannot diagnose the problem. We bought this car in 2020. The main reason was because my wife who drives it is Disabled. She also has to drive the grandkids to and from school. After much research we decided to purchase this car because of its safety and reliability. This is clearly not the case. Mechanical support

I service my car on the 17 January 2024at Philwest somerset when I drive home 220 km from Philwest my Epc light go on I phone thenm imeadiatly they say I must bring the car in for a test on the 31 st Jan I phone then again for guidance because the Epc light go some times on again they advice my rather go to Claremont Volkswagen because they put my a new computer box en wiring and loom in September 2022 I go the 7th February to Claremont is that the right procedure I always service my car at a Volkswagen dealer regstr cam 1415

DSG transmission problems

Two of my children had DSG gearbog problems in the past 3 months with their Tiguans. One 2,0 TDi and one 2.0 TFSi. Both under 90 000km. Full service history. My questions are: how general is this? Why does it take 3-4 weeks to get spares? If this is frequent problem, why so expensive? Why is VW hiding the problem . I have been a VW owner since 1971 - no DSGs fortunately. Kindly respond ASAP.

Having my first DSG issue with a vw Tiago with 41000km on...VWSA response the noise and shudder it makes is natural.... Ive had 5 other DSG's in different models with no issiues
